Hyderabad: The academic senate of Osmania University approved the budget for the financial year 2026-27, outlining key expenditure priorities.The university has projected total receipts of 723 crore against an estimated expenditure of 755.28 crore. A major portion of the budget has been allocated towards salaries, accounting for 56.5%, and pensions at 36.5%, covering both teaching and non-teaching staff.Apart from this another 2 crore has been earmarked under a dedicated gender allocation to improve facilities for women on campus. Additionally, 10 crore has been set aside exclusively for research to support academic work and faculty initiatives.The budget also factors in the utilisation of the 1,000 crore grant from the Telangana govt for infrastructure development. This includes upgrades to academic buildings, hostels, and digital systems, along with measures to enhance green cover on campus.
