New Delhi: Sri Venkateswara College (SVC), Delhi University, hosted an open day on Friday for Class XI and XII students from 24 govt and private schools across the capital, offering them a first-hand look at university life and higher education choices.

The programme was organised as part of the college’s ongoing multidisciplinary international conference, SVC Spark: Scholarly Promotion of Academic Research and Knowledge, which concludes on April 11.

Around 450 students participated, moving across departments and engaging with exhibitions and interactive stalls set up by various faculties. College students introduced visitors to different disciplines through models, live demonstrations and hands-on activities, while also answering questions on undergraduate courses, career options and campus life.

College principal Vajala Ravi also interacted with the visiting students during the event.

Designed as an experiential platform, the open day aimed to familiarise school students with the academic environment of a university. From understanding undergraduate programmes to getting a glimpse of research work and campus culture, participants were given an overview of the opportunities available after school.
