T’puram: A man sustained serious head injuries after a clash broke out between two groups at Poonthura on Friday.According to police, the incident occurred at Punchakkari in Thiruvallom when members of two groups allegedly engaged in a violent altercation. During the clash, one of the individuals was attacked with a beer bottle, resulting in severe injuries.The injured has been identified as Sajeev (30) of Malayinkeezhu. He was initially rushed to a nearby hospital and later shifted to MCH, for specialized treatment. His condition is stated to be serious, police sources said.The exact reason behind the clash is yet to be ascertained. Police said an investigation is under way to determine the circumstances that led to the violence.Thiruvallom SHO Biju said that efforts are on to trace and apprehend the two suspects, identified as Manu (29) and Praveen (29), in connection with the incident.
