Panaji: The Old Goa gram sabha on Sunday decided to conduct a carrying-capacity study of the village and also to disallow mega project proposals until the study was completed, so the development can be well planned in the region.Panch member Vishwas Kuttikar said, “We have 10 complaints against big projects. Such projects affect water bodies. We will not issue licences to such projects.”The garbage issue was also discussed wherein residents demanded to have CCTV cameras installed at black spots and penalise those found littering.“We received numerous complaints about dumping garbage. The gram sabha demanded littering be dealt with strictly,” Kuttikar said.The sabha also demanded beautification of the blind spots across the village, and pavers in front of some residential areas be removed to avoid accidents.
