Pune: The South Mahalunge police have registered a case against four men for assaulting a private company employee on Friday after alleging that the latter spat from the moving bus.The incident happened at Nighoje along the Mahalunge-Talawade Road. The victim, who suffered injuries on his head, face and on his back, has lodged a complaint with the South Mahalunge police.The complainant has identified one of three attackers as an employee of his company. The trio has been charged under sections 115 and 118 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons and means) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).An officer from the South Mahalunge police said on Friday, the complainant was returning home in the company’s bus after working in the second shift. When the bus reached Nighoje, three men forced the driver to stop the bus.“The trio started alleging that one of the workers from the bus spat out of the window and it landed on them. While the two of them were asking the workers, the victim, who was sitting in the driver’s cabin, got up to enquire about the matter. The trio thought the victim spat out of the window and asked him to come down,” the officer said.He said when the victim went down, he noticed his coworker in the company along with the trio. “The trio assaulted the victim with a blunt object and their belts,” he said. The officer said the accused then drove away. “We are searching for the accused,” the officer said.
