Prayagraj: Observing the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri at the divisional commissioner’s office on Friday, speakers underlined patience, tolerance and restraint in adversity, coupled with honesty and commitment to public service, as key lessons from their lives.Divisional Commissioner Dr Lokesh M urged officers and staff to take inspiration from Gandhi’s life and act with calm and wisdom while taking decisions in challenging situations. Controlling one’s reactions and responding to provocation with restraint, he said, were important lessons from the life of the Father of the Nation.The gathering also paid tribute to Lal Bahadur Shastri, remembering his simplicity, honesty, sense of duty and commitment to the nation. His life was cited as an example of how integrity and dedication to public service matter more than position or authority.The commissioner called upon officials and employees to incorporate the ideals of both leaders into their professional conduct and daily lives.
