Madikeri: A native of Odisha, who was working as an estate labourer, was murdered at Chettalli in Madikeri taluk.Another estate labourer was taken into custody in the case, police said.The victim, Ashwinagomago, worked at a private estate for over a decade. He lived with his wife and a daughter at a estate house.On March 2, Mahesh, who was his neighbour, forcefully took Ashwinagomago to a shop in the village. However, Mahesh returned alone in the evening. When Ashwinagomango’s wife Sumbarigamango questioned Mahesh about her husband’s whereabouts, he did not answer.Following this, she began searching for her husband along with other neighbours. They got a clue that her husband was last seen near a private estate with Mahesh. When the villagers visited the estate, they found the dead body.The victim’s wife filed a complaint with Madikeri Rural police. Mahesh has been taken into custody, and the motive for the murder is yet to be ascertained, police said. SP Bindu Mani visited the spot.
