Three individuals, including a 28-year-old man, were booked in Nuh for allegedly marrying a woman under a false identity, sexually assaulting her, extorting money and coercing her to convert by threatening to leak private videos, police said on Wednesday.

The victim, a 31-year-old from West Bengal who lives in Delhi, works as a nurse for elderly patients receiving home-based care, police said.
Krishan Kumar, public relations officer of Nuh police, said the accused, along with his brother and father from Palwal, are yet to be arrested. He said an FIR was registered at Nuh police station on Tuesday under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and section 12 of the Haryana Prevention of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act.
“The suspect had befriended the victim via social media five years back. He married her in a temple in Nuh as per Hindu rituals about four months back after bringing her from Delhi,” Kumar said. “The woman alleged that the accused had sexually assaulted her multiple times and had even recorded videos of the acts,” he added.
Kumar added that the accused used these videos to pressure her to convert after she discovered his real identity. “All the incidents unfolded between September 2025 and March this year. The woman has alleged that the suspect had not only introduced himself using a forged name but also kept it hidden that he was married and had two children,” he said.
Citing the complaint, police said the accused also allegedly assaulted her for resisting conversion, forced her to eat prohibited meat, and coerced her into sexual acts with others, besides extorting ₹2 lakh.
Investigators said the accused went silent after she threatened to approach police. Police noted this is the second such case in Nuh within a week, with a similar FIR registered three days earlier.
