Bhubaneswar: In a boost to the ‘Viksit Odisha’ vision, the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) has transferred three moringa-based food technologies developed by CSIR-CFTRI to a city-based MSME unit, strengthening the state’s push for innovation-led MSME growth. The licensing agreements were exchanged on Wednesday in the presence of MSME department’s commissioner-cum-secretary Rasmita Panda, NRDC CMD Commodore Amit Rastogi (retd) and the company’s MD, Surekha Routray.NRDC officials, led by regional head Bijay Kumar Sahu, said that the collaboration would accelerate the commercialisation of research-driven products and further empower local entrepreneurs. The three technologies — low-fat expanded green snack, moringa chikki and instant moringa-based products, including dip, debittered leaf powder, chutney powder and beverage mix — are designed to deliver high-protein, nutrient-rich and shelf-stable food options using one of Odisha’s most abundant natural resources.Officials said the partnership will help build a robust value chain around moringa, spur the growth of new MSMEs and encourage cost-effective and nutrition-focused manufacturing in the state. NRDC noted that it remains committed to fostering technological sovereignty and supporting Odisha’s rise as an innovation-driven economy.
