Mangaluru: Expressing pride in her son’s run, Ayush Shetty’s mother, Shalmili Shetty, said the family had no regrets after he finished runner-up at the 2026 Badminton Asia Championships in Ningbo. Ayush lost to Shi Yuqi in the final to take the silver medal.“We need to understand his stage. He has been performing consistently, and his ranking will only go up from here,” she said, adding that he is still in a developing phase of his career.On his schedule, she said there will be no break for the young shuttler. Ayush is set to arrive in Bengaluru Tuesday and will leave for the Thomas Cup on April 19.Despite the demanding calendar, the family is looking forward to celebrating his medal on his return. “We are really happy with his medal and are eager to see him soon,” she said.
