Kolkata: Durga Puja hoardings should not be mounted on bamboo frames before Oct 3, Kolkata Municipal Corporation told outdoor advertising agencies on Wednesday.Any outdoor agency that put up advertisements on the frames in Sept will have to pay fees according to KMC rates. Only those who put up the advertisements next month will be exempt from paying the fees as announced by CM Suvendu Adhikari.The agencies were asked to remove all the ads in a week of Dashami. Sources said the puja advertisement business in the city was worth nearly Rs 150 crore. “We were told only flexes will be exempt from paying fees if they are put up next month. LED advertisements will not be exempt of paying fees, even if they are put up in Oct,” said the owner.“The height of the ads cannot exceed 22ft,” he added.END
