Nagpur: Dharampeth Zone of Nagpur Municipal Corporation on Wednesday prevented a weekly market from operating at Ganga Nagar in Friends Colony, citing severe traffic congestion and public inconvenience caused by encroachments on the road.As per civic officials, the market had been causing major traffic bottlenecks every week, leading to hardships for residents and obstruction for emergency services. On Wednesday, the encroachment removal squad stopped vendors from setting up the market. Officials also initiated action against a biryani outlet in RTO area, with an FIR being registered in connection with violations.The administration has warned that no weekly market or vegetable vendors will be allowed to occupy the main road. Local residents welcomed the action, saying it would help ease traffic problems in the area.
