Nagpur: Ganeshotsav mandals in the city will no longer have to run from one office to another to obtain permissions for erecting pandals, fire safety arrangements, electricity connections and other requirements. The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has launched an online ‘Single Window Scheme’ for the festival. The online portal was formally launched by mayor Neeta Thakre on Thursday in the presence of NMC commissioner Vipin Itankar. The initiative aims to make the permission process easier, faster and more transparent for Ganesh mandals while promoting an environment-friendly Ganeshotsav.During the festival, mandals are required to obtain permissions and no-objection certificates from several departments for various arrangements. Under the new system, they can apply for these permissions through a single online platform instead of visiting different offices. The portal will allow mandals to submit applications and upload the required documents online. They will also be able to track the status of their applications and obtain information about the progress of the permission process. The system is expected to reduce repeated visits to govt offices and save the time and effort of mandal office-bearers.The facility will also help the civic administration manage the large number of permission applications received during Ganeshotsav. Bringing the process under one platform is expected to improve coordination between the departments involved and make the approval procedure more systematic. For those who require assistance with online applications, the NMC has made the facility available at all 10 zonal offices. Officials and employees from the concerned departments will be present at the zones, allowing Ganesh mandal representatives to submit their applications at one location along with the necessary documents. The civic body has also provided a facility for mandals to complete the entire application process from home. Office-bearers and members can access the NMC’s online services portal, enter the required information, upload the necessary documents and submit applications for permissions without physically visiting an office.
