Ara: Former CM and Rajya Sabha MP Nitish Kumar on Monday visited the Jai Maa Kali Bakhorapur Wali temple at Bakhorapur village in Bhojpur district’s Barhara block and offered prayers for peace, harmony and prosperity in the state.Temple trust president B D Singh said Nitish performed traditional rituals in the sanctum sanctorum of the shrine and prayed for the welfare of the state and its people.Jagdishpur MLA and minister Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha, Barhara MLA Raghavendra Pratap Singh and Sandesh MLA Radha Charan Sah accompanied him. Security was tightened around the temple during the visit.Kushwaha said though Nitish acknowledged greetings from JD(U) workers and local residents with a wave, he did not interact with the media and left after spending around 10 minutes at the temple.The temple is a major religious centre that attracts devotees from across the country, particularly during Navaratri, a local priest said.
