Nitish Kumar at a school function

Patna: JD(U) national president and former chief minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday inaugurated the foundation day-cum-annual alumni meet of Shaheed Rajendra Prasad Singh Rajkiya Uchch Madhyamik Vidyalaya, earlier known as Patna High School, at Gardanibagh by lighting the ceremonial lamp.Nitish also released the school’s souvenir and offered floral tributes at the statue of freedom fighter Shaheed Rajendra Prasad Singh, described him as a brave warrior of the freedom struggle and the pride of the institution.Nitish praised the school’s glorious tradition and the role of its alumni in nation-building and social development. He said such institutions are not merely centres of education but important sources of inspiration for building the nation.Former Sikkim and Meghalaya governor Ganga Prasad, deputy chief minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, JD(U)’s deputy leader in the legislative council Lalan Kumar Sarraf, and chief whip Sanjay Kumar Singh ‘Gandhiji’ attended the event, along with public representatives, alumni, educationists and other distinguished guests.Speakers discussed the school’s historical legacy, its contribution to education and the achievements of its alumni in detail. The alumni association reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the development of the school and preserving its proud tradition for future generations in Bihar.
