Bihar’s opposition leader, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of depleting the state’s treasury and failing to develop Bihar over two decades. Yadav criticized the BJP, claiming Kumar’s Rajya Sabha nomination was forced and that the JD(U) has become a BJP ‘cell’. He highlighted the state’s persistent poverty, poor infrastructure, and rising crime.

Patna: A day before the expected resignation of Nitish Kumar from the post of Bihar CM, opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav said Kumar has exhausted the state’s treasury. He also targeted the BJP, alleging Kumar was given a farewell without respect and the decision to send him to the Rajya Sabha was imposed on him.“While going, Nitishji has exhausted the treasury of Bihar. Even after twenty years of his govt, Bihar is a poor state, with the lowest per capita income, poor health and education infrastructure. No industry or factory has been set up in the state, and in the past two months no cabinet meeting was held. There is no pocket in the state which is devoid of crime,” Yadav told reporters. He said only two people from Gujarat will decide who will be the next CM of Bihar.

Talking to a news agency, Yadav said JD(U) was no longer a party, but a cell of the BJP. “BJP agents are in JD(U) and they have destroyed the party,” Yadav said, adding, “The way Nitishji is being given the farewell is very heartbreaking. A person who has served as the CM for 20 years has been sent to the Rajya Sabha. This decision has been enforced on him.”
