Prayagraj: Cabinet minister and NISHAD party chief Sanjay Nishad and his supporters staged a sit-in near Shringverpur Dham on GT road (Kanpur-Varanasi highway) on Monday in support of their long pending demands. The minister demanded the district authorities to check encroachments and construction of mosque near quila site among other demands. On being informed, senior police and administrative officials arrived at the site and assured the minister to look into the grievances.The demonstration caused jam on the highway with vehicles lined up on both the sides. The minister along with his supporters expressed their deep concern over encroachments near dham, construction of mosque as well as demanding to declare a public holiday on Nishad Janmotsav. The party workers shouted slogans in support of their demands during around an hour-long demonstration.
