T’puram: The Neyyattinkara railway station redevelopment work is progressing well and is likely to be completed by Sept this year.The railways is also redeveloping stations on Kanyakumari to T’puram route so that the stations will be ready to handle more passengers by the timeline doubling is over to operate more trains. Electronic interlocking of signals was introduced at Eraniel railway station recently.Neyyattinkara station is being redeveloped under Amrit Bharat station scheme and will get upgraded passenger amenities, including a modernized station building, parking area, better approach roads and concourse. As T’puram South railway station is being developed as a satellite terminal for Central, more trains can be operated. TNN
