T’puram: A 60-year-old man was allegedly assaulted with a beer bottle and brutally beaten near Pathekkar ground in Muttathara on Saturday night, with Poonthura police registering a case on Monday.The victim, Sainudheen, of Beemapally, told police that the accused, Seidali alias Mondi Seidali, intercepted him around 8.15pm on Saturday and verbally abused him over a suspected police complaint. The accused allegedly punched him and continued to kick him on the chest and abdomen.Police said the accused then picked up a beer bottle and attempted to strike the victim on the head. Though he tried to evade the blow, the bottle hit his face, causing a bleeding injury to the nose. A second attempt reportedly struck his teeth, loosening one. No arrest has been reported so far, said police. TNN
