Vadodara: Shock prevailed in Gorwa after the body of a newborn girl was found lying by the roadside on Friday, near a housing colony on Gorwa–Panchvati Road.A passerby saw the infant wrapped in a blue cloth and immediately alerted police. Police teams rushed to the spot with a 108 ambulance and shifted the baby to hospital, but doctors declared her dead. Police said the infant had a minor injury on her left eye and had been dumped by the roadside by an unidentified person. Efforts are now on to trace the baby’s family. The baby’s DNA samples have been collected and police will also check records at hospitals across the city to identify women who may have delivered recently.
