Jaipur: The Medical Education Department Saturday directed all govt and private medical and dental colleges to strictly comply with the latest NEET-UG counselling provisions issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), National Medical Commission and the state counselling platform. Medical Education Commissioner Babulal Goyal, addressing a meeting of nodal officers and heads of institutions Saturday, said negligence or delay at any stage of NEET-UG Counselling 2026 would not be accepted. He said the process must be transparent, error-free and student-centric.All participating colleges must appoint one nodal officer and two separate verifying officers—for online verification and physical document verification. Online verification must be completed within the stipulated timeline, failing which the allotted seat may be automatically cancelled. Colleges have also been instructed to update admission fee details on the portal immediately and complete seat resignation procedures within the prescribed time.Goyal directed officials to ensure a state-level helpdesk, call centre, email support system, social media cell and step-by-step guidance videos in Hindi and English. Reporting offices and helplines must function without interruption during the counselling period, including holidays.He urged NEET-UG 2026-qualified candidates to regularly check MCC and state counselling portals and carefully read the information booklet before participating. Several reforms have been introduced this year. Candidates selecting the “freeze” option must visit the allotted college for original document verification and fee payment. Those selecting “float” will get 100% online document verification for seat upgradation in the next round and need not visit the college or submit original documents until the third round or final allotment.To curb seat blocking, the state counselling board and NEET core committee will immediately upload the verified list of admitted candidates after state round two, allowing vacant seats to return to the counselling pool.For NRI candidates, online document verification will follow Supreme Court directions and MCC guidelines. Divyang candidates will be evaluated under revised NMC norms, with a permanent UDID card mandatory.
