Navi Mumbai: All five accused have been arrested for killing their 29-year-old friend at Digha area after a drunken arguement turned violent. The key accused had smashed the victim’s head with a huge stone. The incident occured on April 12 around 2.30 am. The five assailants fled from the spot leaving the victim injured and unconscious. Sunil Waghmare, senior inspector of Rabale MIDC police station said the injured man was identified as Sonraj Shinde, a local resident. Waghmare said, “We had initially arrested two accused identified as Vaibhav More and Mahindra Narayankar on Monday, while the other three absconding accused were traced and arrested from Kalyan area on Tuesday. The other two aides are Kunal Rathod and Akash Lad.”Shinde and the key acccused, Kunal Chaudhary, had a dispute over a new house built by Shinde, who had erected a ladder outside his house that was obstructing Chaudhary’s pathway. Hence, Chaudhary, under pretext of throwing a liquor party, had called Shinde and his four friends near the hilly area towards the east side of Ilthanpada. During the liquor session, Chaudhary deliberately picked up a quarrel with Shinde, and as planned, the five accused fatally assaulted him.
