Ludhiana: A domestic dispute turned violent in Jodhewal on Tuesday evening when a man allegedly repeatedly stabbed his mother-in-law after an argument at her house in Tilak Nagar.The victim, Jaswinder Kaur (52), suffered injuries on her face and neck and was rushed to a hospital for treatment. Doctors said she is stable and out of danger. The accused fled from the spot after the attack.According to the victim’s family, Jaswinder’s daughter had married the accused, a resident of Kakowal Road, around one and a half years ago. The family alleged that the man frequently assaulted his wife.Jaswinder told police that her daughter and son-in-law had a quarrel on Tuesday afternoon, following which her daughter came to stay at her parental home in Tilak Nagar. Around 8.30pm, the accused allegedly reached the house and began arguing with his wife.When Jaswinder intervened, the accused reportedly got enraged. According to the family, he pulled out a knife concealed in his clothes and attacked her repeatedly before fleeing.Neighbours and family members rushed the injured woman to Civil Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.Police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and have launched a search for the accused. Further investigation is underway, and a case is being registered based on the victim’s statement.
