Ajmer: Nagaur police seized 600 opium poppy plants from Akla village in Khimsar block and arrested the field owner, Trilokram Jat, on Sunday.Police said the accused had grown some of the plants on the roof of his house located in the field, while others were planted between standing crops. Acting on a tip-off during an anti-drug drive launched under SP Roshan Meena, a police team raided the field and found 150 harvested opium plants and 450 flowering plants. All plants were seized and the accused was taken into custody.In a separate operation in Titari village under Shribalaji police station, police seized 1.643 kg of opium valued at Rs 8.25 lakh and arrested Shivram Jat on Saturday. The action was disclosed on Sunday.In another case, police arrested Naresh Ram Jat with 86 grams of smack valued at Rs 10.70 lakh and seized Rs 2.15 lakh in cash from his possession. Police said Naresh is a history-sheeter with 30 criminal cases registered against him at different police stations.
