Varanasi: To mark the end of ‘Janambhoomi to Karmabhoomi Yatra’ event that started on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on Sept 17 and is concluding on completion of 25 years of his leadership as chief minister (Gujarat) and PM, BJP finalised preparations for a public meeting to be held at Jagatpur on Wednesday.BJP national president Nitin Nabin, chief minister Yogi Adityanath, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and the party’s state president Pankaj Chaudhary will address the meeting, said BJP’s Kashi regional unit president Ashok Chaurasia on Tuesday.These senior members of BJP will welcome the group of yatra participants on reaching Varanasi after beginning the Seva Sankalp Bike Yatra from Vadnagar (Gujarat), he said, adding that the public meeting will be organised at Jagatpur Inter College in Rohaniya on Wednesday afternoon.Earlier, the 500 bike riders participating in the yatra will gather at Sampurnanand Sanskrit University on Wednesday morning to reach Maidagin by bus and later proceed on foot to Kashi Vishwanath Temple. 51 women carrying ‘kalash’ on their heads will walk ahead of the yatris. The urns contain water brought from the rivers in Vadnagar to offer ‘jalabhishek’ to Lord Vishwanath. After darshan and worship, the yatris will proceed to Jagatpur Inter College grounds and take part in the concluding public meeting.Chaurasia said all preparations for the proposed event were completed at the meeting venue. The party’s district, city and mandal-level units were mobilising people for their large-scale participation. UP ministers, public representatives, office-bearers and workers were also carrying out mass contact campaigns in villages around the public meeting venue to ensure wide participation. Hundreds of hoardings with welcome messages for Nabin are being installed across the area. These displays also highlight govt schemes and achievements.BJP ensured creation of separate blocks for smooth seating and crowd management at Jagatpur, said Chaurasia, adding that a special section has been earmarked for bike yatra participants arriving from Vadnagar. Separate sectors are being created for women, the intelligentsia, media representatives and persons with disabilities. Essential facilities, including potable water, will be provided in all blocks before the Wednesday public meeting.
