Prayagraj: Police launched a detailed probe into Banpurva Saraipitha village incident wherein two brothers committed suicide within a gap of 22 days.After registering an FIR against Samajwadi Party MLA Hakim Bind and four others following the suicide of elder brother, police are scanning the role of all five persons named in the FIR and ascertaining what led to the suicide.DCP (Ganga Nagar) Kuldeep Singh told TOI that police have been probing the case on all angles, including an occultist who used to visit victim’s house on frequent intervals. He, however, said “Police have been compiling all evidence related to suicide by the brothers and planning to quiz all family members including close relatives.” The twin suicide incident has puzzled Handia police investigating the case.Meanwhile, autopsy report of Sushil (35), who ended his life at his home last week, stated hanging as cause of death. Family members registered FIR against five persons, including Handia Samajwadi Party MLA Hakim Lal Bind, blaming them for the incident.In the case of suicide by Santosh, younger brother of Sushil, police detained the former’s wife and brother in-law, on charges of abetment of suicide. Santosh’s body was found hanging from a tree on Jun 11.Police said following suicide by Santosh, family member had named his wife Gauri and brother in-law Lalla for abetment and they were arrested and sent to jail.====Eom
