Mangaluru: Commissioner for the Hindu religious institutions and charitable endowments (muzrai) department, Sharath B, has assured that the long-pending master plan committee meeting for the Rs 604 crore development project at Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple will be convened shortly to fast-track infrastructure works aimed at enhancing facilities for devotees.During a review meeting with the temple’s management committee and officials of the public works department (PWD), on Monday, the commissioner said priority will be given to launching major projects under the master plan, including the construction of the Suttu Pauli, a dormitory, and a 1,000-room accommodation complex for pilgrims. He directed that the works be taken up on priority and completed at the earliest.The temple management placed before the commissioner several key proposals requiring immediate attention. These included the construction of additional pilgrim amenities, staff welfare measures, recruitment of additional employees, revision of staff salaries, remuneration for Sarpa Samskara priests, and matters relating to the smooth conduct of temple rituals and services.Sharath assured the committee that the issues will be addressed without delay, and reiterated that the master plan committee will meet soon to initiate the proposed development works. He also responded positively to proposals for strengthening the temple’s educational institutions, improving employee welfare, and enhancing facilities for students.Following the meeting, the commissioner inspected the proposed development sites. He reviewed the blueprint for the new Suttu Pauli and visited Injadi, where the proposed 1,000-room devotees’ accommodation complex and staff residential quarters are planned.Among those present were management committee president Harish S Injadi, executive officer Aravind Ayyappa Sutagundi, assistant executive officer SJ Yesuraju, members of the management committee, master plan committee representatives and officials from the PWD.
