Patna: Security arrangements have been stepped up at the Bihar legislative assembly ahead of the five-day monsoon session beginning on Monday. Central range IG Jitendra Rana has directed officials to ensure strict security and smooth arrangements on the assembly and secretariat premises.Baggage scanners, vehicle-checking machines and metal detectors have been installed at all Assembly gates, while additional security equipment has been deployed at the secretariat complex. Every person entering the premises, along with their belongings and vehicles, will undergo thorough checks.The pass system has also been tightened to prevent the entry of unauthorised persons. Serialised colour-coded passes will be issued to officials, security personnel and other authorised individuals, with entry permitted only after verification.Authorities have reviewed the CCTV surveillance network and ordered the replacement of non-functional cameras and the installation of additional ones where necessary.Traffic arrangements have also been strengthened. Traffic SP Sagar Kumar said 28 points, including Mangles Road, Harding Road, Bailey Road and areas around Vishweshwaraiya Bhawan and Vikas Bhawan, had been identified for traffic deployment and barricading.“More than 100 traffic personnel will be deployed exclusively for the Assembly session and will remain on duty throughout all five days. Four quick response teams have also been deployed,” Kumar said on Sunday.Special parking arrangements have been made for MLCs at Amar Jawan ground, while designated entry and exit gates have been earmarked for Secretariat staff.
