Gadchiroli: At least 38 passengers were injured when an MSRTC bus travelling from Gadchiroli to Chamorshi overturned near Shivni village on Thursday after the driver reportedly lost control when the steering wheel suddenly locked.The bus, bearing registration number MH 06 8848, overturned on the roadside, leaving several passengers injured. All 38 injured passengers were taken to the Gadchiroli District General Hospital for treatment. Of them, 31 sustained minor injuries, while seven suffered serious injuries and required medical attention.The accident triggered panic among passengers and the locals, who rushed to the spot and helped evacuate those trapped inside the overturned bus.Dr Milind Narote, MLA, visited Gadchiroli District General Hospital following the accident and interacted with the injured passengers. He enquired about their condition and the treatment provided to them.Preliminary information suggested that the sudden locking of the steering mechanism caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. Further details about the exact cause of the accident are awaited.
