Mangaluru: A motorcycle was stolen and an elderly man was robbed of his gold chain in two separate incidents reported in Vittal police station limits, Bantwal. Police suspect the same gang may have been involved in both offences. Anand Sapalya, 53, a resident of Idkidu in Bantwal, lodged a complaint stating that his motorcycle valued at approximately Rs 30,000, was stolen. According to the complaint, he had parked it in the courtyard of his house on Saturday evening. When he checked the following morning, the vehicle was missing. Based on the complaint, Vittal police registered a case under section 303 (2) of the BNS. TheIn another incident, K Suryanarayana, 79, also a resident of Idkidu, reported that he and his family were asleep at their residence on Saturday night when two unidentified people entered the house. When he woke up, the intruders allegedly snatched a 20g gold chain, valued at about Rs 2.6 lakh, from his neck and fled through the rear door of the house.Based on his complaint, police registered a case under sections 329(4), 115(2), 309(4) read with Section 3(5) of the BNS.
