Vadodara: Three children died after their mother allegedly jumped into a well with her four children in Devgadh Baria taluka of Dahod district on Thursday afternoon.The incident occurred in Vadbhet village under Sagtala police station limits. The woman, identified as Champa Rathwa, 37, had taken her four children — aged 12, 10, 5 and 2 — to the well. Sagtala police said it is suspected that she pushed the children into the well before jumping in herself. A local woman witnessed the incident and alerted villagers, who rushed to the spot and called in swimmers for rescue.Champa and one child were rescued, while three others were pulled out unconscious and taken to a hospital, where they were declared dead. Preliminary probe suggests marital discord may have driven the woman to take the extreme step.
