Kanpur: As forecast by weather experts, Kanpur received light to moderate rain and drizzle on Thursday morning, bringing down the temperature to 30.6°C, according to the CSA weather observatory.The city received around 18.9 mm of rain on Wednesday afternoon, which also lowered the night temperature. The minimum temperature dropped to 19.6°C, prompting residents to switch off their air conditioners during the night. Till 8 am on Thursday, the city had recorded 20.3 mm of rainfall in the preceding 24 hours.The downpour began around 7 am and continued for nearly half an hour before stopping. By 9 am, the sky had cleared and bright sunshine prevailed, resulting in humid and uncomfortable conditions.Despite the drop in temperature, high humidity made the weather sultry, with relative humidity recorded at 96%.Weather expert S N Sunil Pandey said passing clouds accompanied by light rain or drizzle were likely over the next few days. Bright sunshine is also expected, while morning mist may occur at times. Temperatures are likely to rise gradually, he added.
