Surat: Heavy rain lashed parts of South Gujarat again on Sunday, with Ukai taluka in Tapi district recording 12 inches of rainfall in the 24 hours ending at 6am. Umarpada received 8.35 inches, followed by Subir at 5.67 inches and Songadh at 5.51 inches.Between 6am and 8pm on Sunday, Kaparada recorded the highest rainfall at 3.35 inches. Other talukas that received significant rainfall included Vansda (3.23 inches), Dharampur (3.19 inches) and Umarpada (3.03 inches). Surat city recorded 1 inch of rainfall during the same period.Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast very heavy rain in parts of Bharuch, Surat and Navsari on Monday and Tuesday.
