Bokaro: Days of steady monsoon rain have transformed Sevati Valley in Kasmar block, along the Jharkhand-West Bengal border, into a breathtaking seasonal attraction. Located about 50km from Bokaro district headquarters, the valley has emerged as a popular stop for travellers and nature lovers as its gushing waterfall is cutting through lush green hills and creating a striking landscape that has become a favourite backdrop for photographs and selfies.“Sevati Valley attracts visitors every monsoon, but this year the rainfall has made the waterfall and surrounding scenery even more spectacular,” said Anik Kumar, a resident of Bokaro Township who recently visited the spot.The sight of the white cascade tumbling through dense greenery has been prompting motorists to pull over and take in the view. Visitors from nearby areas have also been flocking to the valley to experience its monsoon makeover, with cloud-covered hills and water streams enhancing the region’s natural beauty.Local Mukhiya Sarita Devi urged authorities to develop basic tourism infrastructure at the site. “Sevati Valley is a natural treasure. With proper facilities, it can attract tourists from Jharkhand as well as neighbouring West Bengal in large numbers,” she said.Residents noted that while Sevati Valley figures on the state’s tourism map, infrastructure remains inadequate. Local villager Sudhir Ghashi said people have long demanded safety measures, seating areas, signboards, sanitation facilities and other visitor amenities.“Better infrastructure would not only boost tourism but also generate livelihood opportunities for local communities,” he said.
