Pune: Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL) on Monday hiked the price of CNG by Rs2 per kg. The new price of CNG will be Rs97.75 per kg from Sept 1 in Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and adjoining areas of Chakan, Talegaon and Hinjewadi, MNGL officials said. The CNG price was last hiked in June by Re1 per kg.MNGL attributed the CNG price hike to recent escalation of tensions in West Asia and the consequent disruption to LNG cargo movement through the Strait of Hormuz. The domestic Piped Natural Gas (PNG) prices shall remain unchanged, officials said.
