Bengaluru: A 46-year-old woman and her two grandchildren died after accidentally coming under an express train at Doddaballapur station Monday morning. The victims are Irfana Zabeeulla, Rukiya Zakir, 13, and Razia Zakir, 8, all residents of Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh.Police said the three were walking towards Doddaballapur railway station when the accident occurred near the station’s ‘outer signal’ around 8am.“The three were hurrying towards the platform by walking on the track. Other passengers had reportedly warned Irfana that it was too dangerous to walk on tracks with two children. It’s also a possibility they may not have heard the express train with locomotive engine at all since such engines don’t make as much noise as diesel ones,” a senior police officer said.
