TIMES NEWS NETWORKMangaluru: The management committee of Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Temple have decided to celebrate Mangaluru Dasara in a unique manner with a lineup of ten grand programmes titled ‘Dasha Vaibhava’. Committee Treasurer Padmaraj R.Poojary called for everyone’s cooperation to make the grand festival a resounding success. He was speaking at a preparatory meeting organized for the upcoming Mangaluru Dasara festival at the Temple hall in the city.Padmaraj said that as per the vision of B Janardhana Poojary, the architect of the Kudroli temple and Mangaluru Dasara, elaborate preparations are underway to conduct this year’s celebrations on a grand scale.

Similar to last year, the festival will feature ten diverse programmes, including ‘Kinnipili Pantha’, ‘Muddu Sharade’, Children’s Dasara, college-level folk dance/arts competitions, a poets’ meet, a marathon, Rudra Tandava dance, and Women’s Dasara, he said.Daily Aksharabhyasa and Chandika homa will be performed., he added.Krishna Vesha competition will be held on Aug 16 for Sri Krishna Janmashtami, followed by Narayana GuruPuja and Varamahalakshmi on Aug 28. Honors will be conferred upon outstanding women and achievers from various fields. Various organizations have stepped forward to sponsor daily cultural events, which will be facilitated under Diamond, Golden, Silver, and Bronze sponsorship tiers, Padmaraj said.Development work is being actively carried out across temple premises, including the recent purchase of an additional 5.5 cents of land nearby. The AC at temple’s dining hall (Anna Sabhagruha) is being completely modernised, and plans to renovate the temple kitchen are underway, he added.Committee member Harikrishna Bantwal said, the Mangaluru Dasara is not merely a cultural event, but a deeply spiritual and religious festival. Noting that devotees from all over the world flock to the temple, he urged collective support to ensure the event’s success and sought assistance from Karnataka State Govt for the festival.Committee president H Jairaj Somasundar and others were also present during the meeting.
