Mysuru: Mandya-based MLC Dinesh Gooligowda, who is also state vice-chairman of the Guarantee Implementation Authority, has urged the govt to invite Supreme Court judge BV Nagarathna to inaugurate this year’s Mysuru Dasara festival.He submitted a representation to chief minister DK Shivakumar regarding the same.He said it would be meaningful to choose Justice BV Nagarathna for this year’s inauguration as she is set to assume office as India’s first woman Chief Justice in Sept 2027, marking a historic milestone in the country’s judicial history. Justice BV Nagarathna hails from Engalaguppe in Pandavapura taluk of Mandya district and is the daughter of former Chief Justice of India, the late ES Venkataramiah, he pointed out.
