Mysuru: Kambala, a theme-based drone show and a documentary by National Geographic channel are among the major attractions planned for Mysuru Dasara, district minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah said.Speaking after launching the official Dasara website (mysoredasara.gov.in) on Wednesday, he directed officials to make the Dasara procession more systematic and innovative. The meeting confirmed that kambala will be held at Satagalli on Oct 18 and 19, with 150 buffalo teams participating in junior and senior categories. Seating for 8,000 spectators will be arranged.The administration also decided to retain the Maharaja’s College Grounds as the venue for the food mela, rejecting hotel owners’ demand to shift it. As many as 120 stalls covering 16 varieties of food have been registered, with vendors to be selected through a lottery.He also said Dasara gold card holders would be allotted seats with numbers.Kannada and culture minister Shivaraj Tangadagi directed officials to allot specific time slots at designated points along the procession route for tableaux and cultural teams to perform, ensuring that the procession moves in a disciplined manner.Tangadagi said ambassadors from foreign countries were being invited for Dasara and three ambassadors had already agreed to attend. Superintendent of Police Mallikarjun Baladandi informed that Yuva Dasara will be held from Oct 13 to 17, with renowned film choreographer Prabhu Deva scheduled to inaugurate it. Popular artists will perform during the five-day event, he said.
