Aizawl: Mizoram authorities have reviewed seven pending complaints under the HIV/AIDS (Prevention and Control) Act, 2017, after disposing of six of the 13 cases registered under the law.The cases were taken up at a meeting held at the office of the project director of the Mizoram state AIDS control society (MSACS) on Thursday.The HIV/AIDS (Prevention and Control) Act, 2017, provides a legal framework to protect the rights of people living with HIV (PLHIV) and prevent discrimination against them. It prohibits disclosure of a person’s HIV status without consent and safeguards PLHIV against discrimination, stigma and unfair treatment.
