Srinagar: A livestock dealer from Pulwama, who had gone missing since Friday afternoon, was found dead on Sunday morning in the Sukh Sarai area along the Mughal Road, officials said.

The deceased has been identified as Shabzar Ahmad Dar, a resident of Arigam village in the Tral area of Pulwama district.

According to reports, Dar had left his home on Friday to offer congregational prayers but did not return, prompting concern among family members. After repeated attempts to contact him failed, the family approached the police and a missing report was lodged.

During the investigation, police recovered Dar’s vehicle from the Dubjan area on Saturday evening. Following the recovery, search operations were intensified in nearby areas along the Mughal Road.

Officials said that on Sunday morning, Dar’s body was recovered from Sukh Sarai. The body was subsequently shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities, including postmortem examination.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death.

The exact cause of death is yet to be determined.More details are awaited.
