Kanpur: The body of a 16-year-old girl, who had been missing from Shikohabad since July 30, was recovered from a canal near the Jadaupur bridge in the Ekdil police station area of Etawah district on Friday evening. Her family has demanded an investigation into her phone records and other digital evidence.The girl was a resident of the Farha police station area in Firozabad district. According to police, she left her home in Shikohabad around 8 am on July 30. She later went missing under suspicious circumstances, prompting her family to lodge a missing person’s report with the Shikohabad police.The girl’s brother told police that she had been in regular contact with a man over the phone. He demanded a thorough investigation into her call records and other digital evidence to ascertain the circumstances behind her disappearance and death.Police handed over the body to the family after the postmortem examination. Further legal action would be taken on the basis of the postmortem report and other evidence.
