Patna: Vitul Kanth Sondarya and Shashank Singh received the titles of Miss Dominic and Mr Dominic, respectively, during the farewell programme held for Class XII students at St Dominic Savio’s High School. The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp. Students of Class XI welcomed their seniors with an enthusiastic ramp walk, showcasing their talent and personality in a vibrant and engaging manner.Special mementoes were presented to the outgoing Class XII students in recognition of their outstanding performance in academics and co-curricular activities over the years. Other titles conferred on the occasion included Mr Personality to Prashant Kumar, Miss Charming to Anjalika, Most Elegant to Tannu, and Academic Weapon to Vishal.
The programme concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Principal Glenda Galstaun. She expressed gratitude to the students, teachers and parents, and wished the departing students success in their future endeavours.Annual sports day: BDM Public School, Maner, celebrated its annual sports day with great enthusiasm. City SP (west) Bhanu Pratap Singh inaugurated the event by tossing the coin for the boys’ volleyball match. Students participated actively in various sporting events. Winners, including Sonali Kumari, Sarita Kumari, and state-level athletes such as Dilkhush and Payal, were awarded medals and certificates by the chief guest.The SP spoke on the need for awareness regarding critical issues affecting youth and society. He provided detailed information on drug awareness, highlighting the severe harmful effects of narcotics and addictive substances. He explained how drug abuse can destroy health, education, career prospects and family life, urging students to stay away from such dangers and to report any suspicious activities.The session also covered cyber awareness and the prevention of cybercrime. Key points included safe online practices, recognising common cyber threats such as phishing, online harassment and fraud, and steps to safeguard personal information while using the internet and social media platforms.Singh also emphasised the role of the Abhaya Brigade, a dedicated Bihar Police initiative aimed at ensuring women’s safety, particularly in and around educational institutions, markets and public spaces.
