Varanasi: The body of a four-year-old missing girl was found in the forest of Dhaneja Ghat on Monday morning in Jaunpur district.According to reports, the girl, who had come to her mother’s aunt’s house in Nishad Basti of Dhaneja village under Jafrabad police station for a wedding, went missing during Dwarpuja on Sunday night. The family members searched for the child throughout the night but in vain. The next morning, the girl’s body was found in the forest of Dhaneja Ghat.Jaunpur SP Kunwar Anupam Singh said police received information about missing of the minor girl on Dial 112. When police launched a search operation, the girl was found dead.“Prima facie, it appears to be a murder. The body has been sent for postmortem. Based on the complaint received from the family members, a case was registered and a team has been formed for investigation. Further legal proceedings are underway,” said police.
