Wardha: Three girl students riding triple-seat on a motorcycle were killed after their vehicle was hit by a private travel bus in Hinganghat on Saturday morning. The accident occurred when the biker applied brakes after a dog suddenly came in front near Sakharkar Complex, and the bus then hit the bike from behind, said police.The accident occurred between 9.45am and 10am on the road from the bus stand to Ambedkar School when the girls left their respective institutions after attending Independence Day functions, said police. The deceased were identified as Misba Javed Sheikh (17), Aarohi Anup Chaure (16) and Samruddhi Rupak Thamse (15).Misba Sheikh and Samruddhi Thamse were Class 11 science students at Ambedkar Junior College, while Aarohi Chaure was a student of Mohta Vidyalaya. The three were close friends since childhood, said sources.The girls were thrown off their bike after the bus hit them and died of serious injuries, said sources. A large crowd gathered at the scene after the accident. Police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to the sub-district hospital for autopsy. Police have seized the two-wheeler and the travel bus.Sub-divisional police officer Sushil Kumar Nayak and police inspector Anil Raut inspected the spot. Police inspector Anil Raut said, “Misba Javed Sheikh was riding the two-wheeler, while the other two girls were seated behind her. We have learnt that she had been riding the two-wheeler for the past one year without licence. Citizens should use helmets while riding two-wheelers and follow traffic rules. Further investigation is underway.“After news of the accident spread across the city, a large number of parents, relatives and citizens gathered at the sub-district hospital. Police were deployed in large numbers on hospital premises.MLA Sameer Kunawar offered condolences to the bereaved families. “Parents should not allow minor boys and girls to drive vehicles. They should be allowed to drive only after receiving proper training in traffic rules,” he said.
