Patna: Police have registered an FIR against four named persons and an unidentified person in a case pertaining to a molestation allegation made by a minor girl in Kaimur district.The girl alleged that a neighbour attempted to molest her by entering her house while she was bathing on Sunday. The accused allegedly fled after she raised an alarm, but the matter escalated when the girl’s family went to his house to complain. The girl’s family has alleged that they were assaulted by the accused’s relatives when they went to confront them and were subsequently threatened with death if they approached the police.Based on the complaint lodged by the girl’s mother, police have registered an FIR against four named persons and an unidentified individual.The complaint also named one Shahzad Ali under Pocso Act in connection with the alleged attempt to sexually assault the minor.According to the 14-year-old girl’s mother, she was sleeping inside the house with one of her daughters in the afternoon while her younger daughter had gone to the bathroom to bathe.The family alleged that Shahzad (24), a neighbour, allegedly entered the house without permission and attempted to sexually assault the girl in the bathroom. When the teenager raised an alarm, her sister rushed to the spot.The complaint stated that when the girl’s sister tried to stop the accused, she was also allegedly subjected to misbehaviour. The noise woke their mother, following which the accused fled from the spot.After the incident, the victim’s family went to the accused’s house to complain.According to the complaint, Jamila, the accused’s mother, along with other family members allegedly assaulted the victim’s relatives and drove them away.Local SHO Mukesh Kumar said, “Police have named Shahzad, Jamila, Sehnaz, Tasleem and Shahnaz, besides an unidentified person, in the FIR in connection with the alleged assault and subsequent confrontation.”The family has further alleged that after they approached the police, they were threatened with dire consequences, including death, if they pursued the case.“Investigators are examining the allegations made by both sides and collecting evidence. Shahzad has fled the home after police complaint. Raids are ongoing to nab him,” the SHO added.
