Patna: The proposed Bihar Building Bylaws, 2026 aim to simplify approval procedures, improve transparency and provide greater flexibility to facilitate construction and planned urban development across the state.A high-level group of ministers on the draft bylaws met here on Saturday under the chairmanship of deputy chief minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary. The meeting, held at Sinchai Bhawan, discussed key provisions of the proposed regulations and ways to streamline building approvals and other regulatory processes.Urban development and housing minister Nitish Mishra said the draft was based on the principles of transparency, faster procedures and sustainable development. He said the proposed bylaws were intended to facilitate construction and investment while supporting infrastructure development, economic activity and employment.Mishra said the draft had been prepared in line with chief minister Samrat Choudhary’s vision of a developed Bihar. During the meeting, UDHD principal secretary Vinay Kumar made a detailed presentation on the draft, outlining its major provisions and proposed measures to simplify regulatory procedures.Deputy CM said the suggestions received from ministers, officials and other stakeholders would help make the proposed bylaws more effective and beneficial to the public.Information and public relations and rural development minister Shravan Kumar, cooperation minister Ramkripal Yadav and public health engineering department minister Sanjay Kumar Singh attended the meeting. UDHD secretary-cum-Buidco managing director Animesh Parashar, Patna Municipal Corporation commissioner Yashpal Meena and representatives of CREDAI Bihar, Bihar Industries Association, Builders’ Association, Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and flat owners were also present in the meeting.
