Shivamogga: Shivamogga district minister Madhu Bangarappa on Tuesday directed officials to immediately release compensation for the areca and coconut plantation farmers, who suffered crop loss due to heavy winds and rain. The minister visited the rain-affected areas in Shivamogga taluk and visited Arahatolalu village to inspect trees uprooted by the storm and interact with the farmers. He personally reviewed the damage and listened to the grievances of the public.Later, he visited Vaddarahatti to inspect damaged houses and cowsheds, interacting with families and collecting loss-related data from officials while instructing them to take swift action for compensation. After inspecting Malligenahalli, he directed that a survey (mahazar) of the crop and property damage must be submitted immediately. Due to power outages affecting the water supply, he directed Mescom to restore electricity to 36 villages and ensure immediate drinking water supply.Madhu Bangarappa also ordered an inquiry to determine the cause a death in Arahatolalu, and instructed the officials to work in coordination and submit a comprehensive report on the crop loss, noting that he would personally discuss the compensation with the chief minister.The minister also visited his constituency of Soraba on Monday evening and promised compensation to farmers and villagers who suffered due to rainfall.
