Shivamogga: Revenue minister Krishna Byre Gowda on Friday said time will answer the calls for a change in leadership in the state. “Whatever is destined to happen, will happen at that time,” he told reporters when asked about a cabinet reshuffle.Emphasising that the govt must adapt to the times, he noted that the public has entrusted them with the responsibility of governance, and his focus remains on working to the best of his ability to solve the problems of the citizens. He remarked that while political aspirations and shifts are inevitable, the administration cannot remain detached from its duty to the people.Turning his attention to the hike in commercial cylinder prices, the minister questioned whether the govt follows one policy during elections and another once they conclude, alleging that the current scarcity in official channels and availability in the black market suggests a system favouring racketeers. He further criticised the central govt’s handling of the women’s reservation bill passed in 2023, questioning the motives behind calling a special session close to the elections.Regarding the recent rain damage in Bhadravathi taluk of Shivamogga, where over 20 houses were destroyed by heavy winds and rain, the minister confirmed that he has received requests for additional compensation and assured that the govt is taking swift action to provide enhanced relief to the victims.
