Keonjhar: Panchayati raj and drinking water, rural development minister Rabi Narayan Naik convened a meeting at Keonjhar Circuit House on Wednesday to review flood damage assessment and restoration work undertaken by various departments during recent floods.The minister reviewed damage to roads, bridges, drinking water supply, power infrastructure, agricultural damage and forest areas as per departmental estimates. Officials briefed the minister on the progress of restoring road connectivity, repairing water supply system, deploying emergency response teams, distributing relief, and other relief measures in the affected areas.The minister commended restoration work of all departments and directed them to ensure uninterrupted supply of emergency services, maintain close coordination and remain prepared for any eventuality. Minister Naik called for immediate action, continuous monitoring and timely assistance to affected people until the situation in the district normalises.Patna MLA Akhila Chandra Naik, superintendent of police Nitin Kushalkar, divisional forest officer Dhanraj HD, additional district magistrate Rabindra Kumar Pradhan, chief development officer and executive officer of Zilla Parishad Kumar Nagbhushan and other district-level officers attended the meeting.Later, the minister visited the flood-affected Anandpur subdivision and reviewed the situation and damage caused by the flood. The minister also visited the damaged ring road site and reviewed restoration work.The minister assured a permanent solution for the outlet system of the ring road to check damage in future. He said the outlet systems would be improved to avoid future damage.
